A History of
FIRESTONE PARK
By Clarice Finley Lewis
with a little help from Glowparty Rob

In Loving Memory of  my Mother, Juanita Fouts &
Grandmother, Thelma Thornton

I would like to thank Clarice for taking all that time back from 1982 to 1986 to research and document all that is and was of our favorite neighborhood, Firestone Park. I would also like thank Clarice's late Sister Lois Finley for giving her the idea. I am going to try and bring this great piece of history that she labored over for so long into the digital age. I have tried and tried to locate Clarice or one of her family members to make sure that it would be ok to put this great information online to no avail.  I am just hoping that Clarice would want everyone to enjoy this great story that she put together to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Firestone Park Citizens Council.

I am going to use her story and as many pictures as I can from her original work, along with a comment here or there from me along with some pictures that I have taken over the years from around "Our Park" and pictures that some of my "Facebook Fans of Firestone Park" have posted online, along with some of their stories too, you will find this information highlighted. If you have any pictures, video or stories that you would like to contribute to this project, please post them on our Facebook Fan Page.

You can click on most of the pictures in the story to enlarge them for better viewing.

I hope that you enjoy this journey into our past and present,
Glowparty Rob
