Take A Stand Against Crime | Lets Talk About Crime | Personal Safety Tips

Firestone Park Neighborhood Watch

A LOOK BACK: Firestone Park Neighborhood watch held 12 meetings in 2010 with approximately 250 residents coming to the meetings to listen to all sort of speakers. Guest speakers ranged from Judges, Home Security experts, local clergy and representatives from the K-9, COPS, and Gang Units. Our largest turn-out was 113 ...residents to as little as 12 at the meetings. We discuss anything from safety to ideas and suggestions on deterring crime from our neighborhoods. We also publish a Ward 7 neighborhood watch newsletter..

Mission Statement

The Firestone Park Neighborhood Watch group has been organized to promote the education of residents and businesses in the Firestone Park area and surrounding neighborhoods of Akron in areas of crime prevention. We would like to assist in the safeguarding of the residents and their properties through voluntary activities including public information, addressing problems and concerns and to help improve the quality of life in our community.

I started this with the hopes of keeping our neighborhoods safe from crimes and to better assist with problem ridden areas to a place where our children and neighbors can live and play safely. I hope that the community can find this organization to be a friendly and vital system.

Presidents Message

The purpose of the organization is to educate the residents of Ward 7 in safeguarding their person, properties and community in the areas of crime prevention to keep our surrounding neighborhoods a safe and comfortable place to raise our families.

The Continuing yearly goal is to add more members. Our long term goal is to have every street with members belonging to our organization. The more eyes an ears we have in our Firestone Park neighborhood ensures us with more protection. We will be looking for board members to help lead this to a healthy and strong organization. Members will help with bringing new ideas and guests speakers to help us with crime prevention.
